Service Gap Analysis In The Light Of Southern Railways
Indian Railways is the largest railway network in Asia. Oliver (1997) argues that service quality can be described as the result from customer comparisons between their expectations about the service they will use and their perceptions about the service company. The main objective of the study is to analyse the gap between passengers expectations and perceptions. Primary data were collected by interviewing 100 passengers of Rail transport in Southern Railway with a specially prepared interview schedule. The data were analysed by using the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) software package. The researcher has applied Simple Percentage analysis, Gap analysis, Factor analysis and Correlation analysis. The result shows that the Gap analysis is positive in all the dimensions in general and is prominent in the dimensions of reliability and comfort.

Review On Effect Of Steel Slag And Fly Ash In Road Construction
Recycling and environmental sustainability goals can be pursued through the reuse of waste generated from different industries such as plastic, glass, iron, etc. in road pavements. The handling of industrial wastes such as fly ash, glass powder, and steel slag has grown to be a major issue in developing nations. The disposal issue will be resolved if fly ash, glass powder, and steel slag can be used for road construction. The current study examines the impact of coarse steel slag aggregate (instead of coarse natural stone aggregate) and fly ash (FA) as fillers on the performance of asphalt mixes for road construction. The reuse of metallurgical slags in road pavement is an important concern. Mostly the by-products produced during the separation of molten steel from impurities in steel-making furnaces include steel slag is generally used in our study on road pavements. Its manufacturing procedures, and chemical, morphological, and physical features have an impact on its contribution to asphalt mixture when slag partially or fully replaces virgin aggregate. This study reviews physical, chemical, and mechanical properties and developments in several areas related to using steel slag aggregate and fly ash in hot-mix asphalt. Road performance can be considerably impacted by the characteristics of steel slag. By-product of burning pulverized coal i.e., fly ash. It can be utilized as a mineral filler in hot mix asphalt (HMA) paving applications at a reasonable cost. Based on the Marshall parameter specific percentage of filler i.e., Fly Ash used in HMA is fixed. Compared to other filler materials, the FA performs better. Additionally, a cost study shows that asphalt mixes containing FA and steel slag aggregate have lower construction and life cycle costs than the control mix. FA and steel slag aggregate both can be utilized as substitute components in asphalt mixes for the construction of roads.

Are ‘return To Work’ Initiatives A Solution To Increase Representation Of Women In The It Workforce?
Talent crisis is a problem faced by many organizations and the IT industry is no exception. Leaking women talent pool especially of women with experience who take a career break in their early careers - mid careers is making the situation worse. IT companies having recognized the business implications of losing this important pool of talent, have implemented a multitude of return-to-work initiatives to improve women’s workplace ability and manage responsibilities they face outside of work especially since many of them have nonlinear careers due to personal responsibilities. Previous literature explained the proposed linkages between Return to work initiatives and the conceptual dimensions undertaken for the study. The research hypothesized and validated that return-to-work initiatives have a positive impact on career return decisions, career progression, efficiency, employability and engagement and skill enhancement of women returners, consistent with the literature review. Managerial implications and scope for further research have been discussed.

Development And Validation Of Uv Spectrophotometric Method For The Estimation Of Linezolid
The objective of this study was to develop and validate a sensitive, simple, accurate, precise and cost-effective UV spectrophotometric method for the quantification of Linezolid (LNZ) in pharmaceutical formulations of lipid nanoparticles. Various analytical performance parameters, including linearity, range, precision, accuracy, limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were determined in accordance with the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) Q2 (R1) guidelines. The analysis was carried out using a mixture of 80% water and 20% methanol (v/v). The maximum absorption peak (λmax) of LNZ was found to be 251 nm in the selected medium. Beer-Lambert’s law was valid in the concentration range of 0.5–10 μg/ml, with a high correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.9955. The study results affirm that the developed procedure is both accurate and precise, with reproducible outcomes. Additionally, it is characterized by its simplicity, affordability, and time efficiency. Consequently, this method can be effectively employed for the quantification of LNZ in prepared lipid nanoparticles.

Monowave Synthesis Of Palladium Nanoparticles By Sterculia Urens Gum (Karaya) Activity On Mcf-7 Human Breast Cancer Cells And Antioxidant Activity
A Monowave synthetic route for the production of Palladium nanoparticles using Gum karaya(GK) is examined for in vitro cytotoxic efficacy against MCF-7. The present work proves the influence of gum karaya composition on the size and morphology of the produced Palladium nanoparticles. The biosynthetic method is quick, simple and easily synthesized and color changes observed in Ultraviolet and visible spectroscopy. Subsequently, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analyses were employed to characterize the as synthesized GKPdNP. The XRD investigation confirmed the presence of Pd (0) nanoparticles and interactions between the bio degradable compounds of the Gum and the produced GKPdNP were confirmed by the FTIR spectra. TEM images demonstrated that the nanoparticles has a size distribution of 3±2 nm. Moreover, the anticancer activity of the GKPdNP was tested against MCF-7 strains. All synthesized Pd nanoparticles exhibited good antioxidant activity.

Analysis Of Traffic Congestion For A Corridor In Visakhapatnam
Traffic congestion is the primary cause that has an impact on the community’s economy, climate and quality of life. In this study, an approach is developed to the analyse the 1traffic conditions at different junctions in Visakhapatnam. It is necessary to identify the reason for traffic congestion and to evaluate traffic patterns in order to take the most suitable steps for each location to minimise traffic congestion and effectively and efficiently implement countermeasures. In this study, five areas were identified: Kommadi junction, Car shed, Yendada junction, Hanumanthawaka, Maddilapalem, and studies of traffic volume and spot speed were conducted. The degree of service is calculated by using the free flow velocity equation in the Highway Capacity Manual based on different variables such as lane width and peak hour variables at these junctions. The standard of service and was obtained in some roads in all the junctions due to geometric problems and heavy traffic on different occasions such as weekends and festivals. Based on current conditions in the area, potential interventions have been suggested.

Experimental Study On Durability Strengthening Of Concrete By Using Industry Metal Slag Waste Partially Replacement Of Fine Aggregate
This paper present result of an experimental investigation carried out to evaluate effects of replacing aggregates (course& fine) with that of Slag (Crystallized & Granular) which is an industrial waste by product on concrete strength properties by using Taguchi’s approach of optimization. Whole study was done in three phases, in the first phase natural coarse aggregate was replaced by crystallized slag coarse aggregate keeping fine aggregate (natural sand) common in all the mixes, in the second phase fine aggregate (natural sand) was replaced by granular slag keeping natural coarse aggregate common in all the mixes and in the third phase both the aggregates were replaced by crystallized & granular aggregates. The study concluded that compressive strength of concrete did not improve almost all the % replacements of normal crushed coarse aggregate with crystallized slag by 5% to 7%. In case of replacements of fine aggregate and both type of aggregates, the strength improvements were notably noticed at 30% to 50% replacement level. It could also be said that full substitution of slag aggregate with normal crushed coarse aggregate improved the flexure and split tensile strength by 6% to 8% at all replacements and in case of replacing fine aggregate & both the aggregates( Fine & coarse) with slag, the strength improvement was at 30% to 50% replacements. It is evident from the investigation that Taguchi approach for optimization helped in indentifying the factors affecting the final outcomes. Based on the overall observations, it could be recommended that Slag could be effectively utilized as coarse & fine aggregates in all concrete applications.
